Finally, more snow !! Even though it was just a few inches, it was more than enough for us to get out for a quick break. We parked at the top of Bluff Road and started wandering east. This time we found a ravine and started heading south through it. It turned out to be a fun idea, especially with the layer of ice from the ice storm. The ravine was covered in buckthorn and it felt like we were crawling through a spider web. We had a great time despite it being a short hike.
The new Poler Stuff Backpack was awesome. It’s really comfortable with a ton of room. I’ve always liked top-loading packs, I feel I can get more loaded. It’s a roll top, some still not sure on how well the pack will withstand rain, but I always pack in zip locks to keep the important stuff dry. More updates to come.
I also brought out a vintage camera Polaroid SX-70 from my vintage shop WilliamChas to see how shooting in the snow with real film would go. It’s much better than I thought. I tried to keep the photo warm to help the development process. The film is from Impossible Project and is so much fun shot to analog instead of just the typical digital smart phone. It’s a lot tougher to shoot old school than I remember. I’ll keep you posted on future analog film shoots.
We also had a great view of town, the pic doesn’t do justice to Lemont.
Thanks for reading and as always, hit me with any questions.
