Finally back at Waterfall and tried out the reroute of the trail. I like the change in the path, especially winding through the oak savannah and bumping into to a few stands of pine trees. I think the pines are one of my favorite aspects of the Waterfall Glen. The mileage for a full loop […]
Rolling on the Centennial Trail. The intention was to be on my road bike but I’m dealing with an issue with the extra set of rims and reoccurring flats. This is now one of my favorite rides on pavement. It’s a straight shot with light traffic and no cars. Lemont needs to work on a […]
A local outdoors gem. The Heritage Quarries are a nice, local diamond in the rough. Actually, I think that’s appealing factor, is it’s a rugged, work-in-progress. We hooked up the Burly’s and the Tag-a-longs for a 6ish miles of wooded and lake views ride. We even stopped and found one of the 9 geocaches that […]
They said it couldn’t be done but we did it ! H+T climbed up a mountain, after we drove a good portion… 🙂 It doesn’t matter to me or them because we had a great time and they know they’ve been to to the (almost) top of the highest point in Vermont.
Finally back in the saddle — and I need to get more time in the saddle with the MS150 ride coming up in June. The weather was chilly. I forgot how much I’ve learned to enjoy the Waterfall Glen loop, with Signal Hill added in. Signal is a tough climb, especially at the beginning of […]
Out and about hiking with the boys ! We were able to cover about 2.25 miles and had a great time. Along the way we found an “ancient” ships mooring tie down and amazing cliffs in a surprising place. The ground was mostly frozen which allowed for easy travel. I’d like to head back after […]
Another great hike at the Morton Arboretum. We went out to one of our favorites, Sterling Pond ! My boys and I always have a great time hiking the loop around the pond. Lately we’ve been expanding the hike out to the prairie and back.
