Anytime is the perfect time to start cycling ! Here’s a cool info-graphic that I came across that helps answer the questions you’ve always had. Fall is the perfect time to get out on two wheels — especially on the Centennial Trail in Lemont. Park under the Lemont Road Bridge and head west, the colors(…)
Another great day on the Des Plaines River in Lemont ! On this trip we made a new friend, Rich. We’re always happy to meet fellow outdoors enthusiasts, especially when they’re from Lemont ! We put in at a familiar spot, we even spent a little time afterwards doing some garbage clean-up and trimming back(…)
Finally on the water and finding some solitude kayaking in Illinois ! Great day on the water as always. The river is a bit low but not as bad as last year though we really couldn’t get into the basin. Wind out of the east so we paddle up stream with a head wind which(…)

Finally on single track ! It’s been a record year for rain and the trails have been closed whenever I had the time to roll. It was great to hit the old favorites.
We were looking for something to do on a Saturday so I decided to google “Nature Center”. To my surprise Bolingbrook Park District’s Hidden Lakes Nature Center popped up. The guys thought it was a good idea so we packed up some water and granola bars and hopped in the car. We pulled off of(…)
I learned a life lesson when my son said to me this weekend: “It’s just a little rain…” He reminded that weather, like many things are just a state of mind. You can let the rain ruin your day, or you just accept… or embrace it and go about your way. Over the weekend we(…)
